What is the Meaning of Kochdaiyaan?


Meaning of Kochadaiyaan – The title of the Movie Kochadaiyaan is inspired by the king of Pandya Dynasty Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran. Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran was a Pandyan king. He was the son and successor of Arikesari Maravarman. Arikesari Maravarman was a Pandyan king who ruled the ancient Tamil kingdom between 670 and 710 AD. He was the successor of Jayantavarman(640-670 AD).He was succeeded by his son Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran.

Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran ruled the ancient Tamil kingdom between 710 CE and 735 CE. He asserted his superiority over the Cheras and Cholas and Depressed the Marathas in the city of Mangalapuram, which is now presently known as  Mangalore. He also started the acts of warfare with the Chalukyas of Badami and the Gangas.He defeated Ay chieftains in Kurunadu in south Travancore.

After Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran Maravarman Rajasimha I ca,e under the ruling kingdom. He Ruler Between 735 CE and 635 CE. He was the son and successor of Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran.
